My mentor, Sharon Shoemaker is a mentor to many people. Her way of moving through the world of photography constantly inspires me. She once was entrenched in the world of film photography. She worked both with still shots and videos. What amazes me about her is her ability to stay current and well informed both in the film and digital arenas. As I see it, these worlds are not the same. Technology adds a whole different dimension, as does the shift out of the dark room.
Although Sharon prefers the look of film and I tend to agree with her that the feeling of a film image touches more deeply than that of digital, she stretches herself and works to find the latest trends. At times she mixes old and new, at times she separates the two and at times she simply explores whatever will help her create her vision.
So today I look through a link a couple years back she suggested I check out. The topics are broad and interesting. Check it out. I'm certain you will find something of interest. It's Petapixel at petapixel.com.
